Find the actual USB link mode in specs or OS reports. Do not rely on connector shape alone.

Network switch or NAS

Confirm the other end supports the Ethernet speed you expect, whether that is 10GbE, 5GbE, or 2.5GbE.

Cable category and length

Use a known-good Ethernet cable appropriate for the target link speed, especially for sustained 10GBASE-T traffic.

Storage speed

Fast networking does not make slow disks, small random files, or overloaded NAS CPUs transfer at 10GbE-class rates.
